About our toys

Origin: All the toys and products which are displayed on our site have been sourced from selected quality wooden toy manufacturers who are based in Europe. None of the products displayed have been purchased from outside the E.U.

Types of Wood Used: A high percentage of the products shown are made from European Hardwoods such as Maple, Alder, Beech, Ash, Cherry, Hornbeam etc. Other toys are manufactured using Pine.

Timber Origins: The timber used in the manufacture of our toys has generally been felled from sustainable forests which are spread across Europe.

Manufacture: Many of our products are individually hand crafted and / or hand finished which gives the items a more charming expression compared to machined products.

Why Wood: Wood is natural and regenerative and stimulates the senses. It has texture, it is sometimes light, sometimes dark, it is hard or it is soft. It is rough or smooth and smells good. It sounds different, it is heavy or it is light. It has its own temperature. If it breaks, it can easily be fixed and it is recyclable. Bacteria cannot reproduce on wood.

Quality: Our toys are manufactured by European based companies and carry the CE mark where applicable. All colours, varnishes and dyes used comply with the EN 71 standards which mean that they are approved to be used by children of any age and will not be harmful to the environment also.

We are a small family run business which was established in 2008 and have been supplying quality wooden products since our establishment. We place a high importance on quality as we believe that wooden toys are products which are timeless and can be passed on from generation to generation.
